Chang style TaiChi was created in the mid 1900s by the
great martial artist Chang Tung Sheng. Mr. Chang
competed in thousands of matches all over the world
without ever being defeated. He was a master of
many fighting systems, but his central art was Shuai
Chiao, China's oldest martial art. Chang style
TaiChi is nearly identical to Yang style, but some of the
movements and applications are adapted to meet the
principles of Shuai Chiao.
The TaiChi classes will include the practice of push
hands, and students will learn about Shuai Chiao
applications, but the fighting aspect of Chang style
TaiChi will not be a focus.
